Yesteday I continued the circus theme with Cirque de Soleil Quidam
A great followup to Cirkus Inferno
The headless man with the umbrella was very cool.
The anonymity theme reminded me of why I am doing Sxip
As usual, power and balance where big themes.

I think the modern circus is more reflective of the real world now than most film.
If you have not seen Cirque, I highly recommend it.

Today I saw Cirkus Inferno. Funny. Cool. Hot … and very creative.

How I ended up there is an interesting tale. I was searching the web for the musician Sxip who I discovered when I was Googling about Sxip Networks and saw that he was working with the Daredevil Opera Company. Looking at their upcoming events I was thirlled to see they would be playing in Vancouver at … the Vancouver International Children’s Festival.
I convinced a friend of mine to come with me and we were likely the only adults there without children. We stopped by the Lost Children Exhibit to get some — but were ushered away when we admitted that we did not have any children.

The first time you do something and the result is not what was expected, that is learning. The second time is a mistake.

Yes, there is a camera on the phone, but the only way to get the photos off (without emailing them to myself) is to purchase an app. I have yet to figure out how to associate photos with a caller. This is one of those features that you just expect to be there. Sony had it in there palmtops at least a year ago. What was Handspring thinking? … were they thinking? … perhaps that is why they sold to Palm.

My Treo 600 has a cool app called CityTime. It has clocks for 4 different cities so that you can tell at a glance what time it is. Handy for contacting friends in different places. My brain is not so good at timezone math — particularly when it is for Australia or New Zealand.
The coolest part is the map of the world that is shaded where it is dark out. I would put up a picture … but have not figured out how to do a screen grab on the Palm.

I have been talking about having a blog for some time now, and had decided to set one up on blame.ca on my 40th birthday. My 41st is at the end of this month, so I decided I would get to it — so here we are!
Today also was the first day that I have submitted a story to Slashdot. It was on the use of open source in Canadian Enterprises. It was accepted and on reflection I thought how appropriate a story to reference for a Blame Canada blog!
Unfortunately I made the mistake of including my email address. A couple hours later the spam started and I continue to get a daily trickle. I have been practising safe email and until now have not gotten any spam on my personal email account. Now I feel like I have contracted an incurable disease.
